A SPIRITUAL RESOURCE CENTER

Founded to serve the spiritual needs of the community, our Reading Room has been a spiritual resource center for Santa Monica for more than a century. We are open to the public on Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, on Saturdays from 1 pm to 4 pm, and before and after our Sunday and Wednesday church services. We welcome people of all faiths. 

You are invited to visit our Reading Room, which includes a bookstore, library, and study room. We offer a variety of valuable resources to deepen spiritual understanding. Our library includes all editions of the The Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal , documenting more than 135 years of healings. Resources from the Christian Science Publishing Society also include the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lesson in a variety of formats, The Christian Science Monitor,  and The Herald of Christian Science. 

Other research tools include JSH Online (a comprehensive subscription-based website), an extensive collection of Bibles, concordances, and Bible reference books, biographies of founder Mary Baker Eddy, Christian Science audio recordings, music CDs, Bible stories for children, and more. All materials are available for your free use during your visit. Many resources are also available for purchase or through our lending library.

A QUIET SPACE

You are welcome to stay as long as you like to read, meditate, pray, and enjoy our quiet study room or outdoor courtyard. Librarians are available to answer any questions you may have and to explain the precepts of Christian Science.
